Wild Win PEI Title With OT Clincher

Sunday March 18, 2018

Chandler Wood scored at 3:27 of the extra frame to give the Kensington Monaghan Farms Wild a 3-2 win in game five of the PEI Championship series.  The Wild won the best-of-seven series four games to one and will represent PEI in the Atlantic Major Midget AAA Championships March 29th to April 1st in East Hants, NS.

Also scoring for the Wild were Colby MacArthur (1-1) and Ryan Richards.  Assists went to Frank Fortin (2), Dixon MacLeod, Isaac Callaghan and Evan Gallant.

Connor MacGregor (1-1) and Ed MacNeill (1-1) scored for the Pride with Nick Reeves and Luke Garnhum adding helpers.

Caleb Coyle took the win for the Wild over Erik MacInnis of the Pride as Kensington held a 45-22 shots advantage.

The Wild held period leads of 1-0 and 2-0.

Kensington's Evan Gallant was named MVP of the series.
